iowacruiser Posted April 9, 2004 #1 Share Posted April 9, 2004 I posted this questins on one of the other cruiseline sites but wanted to get some of your opinions. We are planning a January 2nd departure out of Ft Lauderdale and was wondering who has had experience booking room sover New Years in FLL or MIA. I'm sure most of the nicer hotels offer New Years Eve party packages that include bands and buffets at their establishments but I haven'y seen any offered yet on their websites. So far the best price I can find for Ft Lauderdale is the Embassey suites through Hotwire and it's pretty expensive. Should I even bother trying to use Priceline or just book directly through the Hotel chain?
sunlovey Posted April 9, 2004 #2 Share Posted April 9, 2004 A great hotel in South Beach... The Pelican! Delicious restaurant downstairs and extremely unique rooms; right on Ocean Drive.
cruisetmc Posted April 9, 2004 #3 Share Posted April 9, 2004 While I don't know about New Years Packages, I used the Comfort Inn/Suites on South Federal Highway for a precruise stay in Ft. Lauderdale. They have a free shuttle from airport to hotel and hotel to cruiseport. cuppy Posted April 10, 2004 #4 Share Posted April 10, 2004 It couldn't hurt to try and bid on priceline. I am planning on putting a bid in for 12/30 - 1/2 (3-nights) for a 3-star for $35 or $40 a night. I got the Raddison for $45 on 1/1/04 and met people who had been there for several days and got it at $35 a night. Thought I would try it again this year.
