sbwmail Posted February 5, 2009 #52 Share Posted February 5, 2009 ...we were very happy with Anastasia Tours last summer and they took care of everything, not just the visa's but Rubles for anything we needed, even souvenirs, subway (for the beauty of it) and lunch. We custome tailored our tour (2 days) and it was cheaper with them than the other well-known companies! - Susan
Rickdabear Posted February 5, 2009 #53 Share Posted February 5, 2009 We had heard rumors that we would not be allowed to leave the ship unless were were on a ship's tour. At our meet and greet, we asked the captain if this was true and he said absolutely not. We walked right off the ship, however, the concierge escorted our group. He took us to a check-out counter that was not yet open. As our group exited the elevator we saw a huge line of folks waiting to get off. One man yelled out, "Hey! The line is back there!" (He didn't realize we were following the concierge.) Other than that there was no problem getting off the ship. I was with Ginny on that excursion. She did us all a big favor with the Concierge. She's being very kind for not ratting me out, so I will do it myself. I got in a confrontation with the guy that yelled about the line. I felt bad, not because of him, but that I embarrassed my wife, who was a little afraid I might hurt the guy. If you can get an escort the first day, you will be doing yourself a big favor. Ginny had the right idea. Da Bear
