crusing48/51 Posted July 14, 2008 #1 Share Posted July 14, 2008 We are planning to try the zip line excursion in Juneau. My wife has questions about the height, length and security of the sky bridge over the Gastineau Channel. She thinks it is too high and too long and doesn't have enough concrete and steel for her comfort. Can anyone fill us in? We would really like to hear from people who have height concerns.
Double Nickel Posted July 14, 2008 #2 Share Posted July 14, 2008 Hi We were in Alaska 6-20 to 27. Can't give you exact answers you are looking for, but fyi: DH did the zip line eco excursion booked w/Celebrity in Ketchikan. ( He does not have any issues with height.) He said the tour was great, the guides terrific, and safety was top priority. He also said there are no railings around the trees where you land inbetween lines, also if you get stuck mid way; you need to get to the end of the line doing 'hand over hand' on the cable. I am not saying this to alarm you, he would do it again in a heartbeat, but your wife needs to be aware of those little details. Hopefully someone else can add more details for you. (No, I did not go with him, I am afraid of heights.) Safe travels, PS We did Harv & Marv whale watching the morning we were in Juneau and they are 100% terrific!
