Toiletries on Ventura

What cabin have you got? Suites and mini suites get more things than insides, but all get shampoo, eye gel, sewing kit, bath gel etc.

I would take my OWN shampoo and conditioner anyway, as it is so important for your hair to 'behave itself 'on a special holiday like this with formal nights etc.... and shampoo is a very personal thing. If you didn't like the freebie Temple Spa one you might not be able to get your usual one abroad.

Are you sailing from Southampton? If so, take EVERYTHING you want to take and don't worry. If flying shampoo and conditioner would be a priority for me personally.

I have just looked at your cruise, and see you are sailing from Southampton.... so TAKE IT ALL!!!! I have a medium case for us two which just has 'odds and sods ' in it.... You will see people with4,5,6,7,8, cases for a couple - so unless you are flying to Southampton (from Ireland/Scotland or elsewhere) take as many cases as you want. Plus medications inc travel sickness tablets etc, as a visit to ships drs for sea sickness will cost you £60-80.....

We take 2 very large cases on wheels, and a medium and weekender case + suit carrier, and there are many with more luggage than that - asked Derek the MM....

LOL:D

PS. Photos of my Med cruise here if interested...did many of your ports but on Arcadia...

Thanks that's really helpful, we have a mini suite, but I think that I will take your advice and take everything! I was a little unsure about the number of cases and if the cabin would be big enough to store them but am reassured. Thanks again, I'll get back to packing!!

Mrs H and myself managed to travel with three very large wheeled suitcases, suit carrier case, 2 very large holdalls and hand baggage. We like to travel light! :D

Well P and O did say there was no limit (Other than 30kg limit per piece)! Everyone was happy, except the Porter at Southampton who unloaded our car. - last seen hobbling off mentioning something about a hernia operation... :D

All lived happily under our beds whilst on the cruise.

I was very disappointed with the blue colour Temple Spa shower gel and was sorry I had not taken my own.

Bring back Molton Brown!

I dont think we got a sewing kit on Ventura! We didnt get shampoo and conditioner and never have had that on a P&O cruise - only the shower gel.

We were in a JB balcony cabin on Lido deck and we got shampoo, shower gel, conditioner, soap, eye gel, freshen up spray, lip salve, etc etc.

The sewing kit was in a plastic box in the bathroom.

Enjoy your trip. Ventura's lovely.

Gail:)

Where was your cabin Caspall, the engine room? Lol

We had all the bits in A222 (Austrailiaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa Deck - Don't you just love the lift announcements)

P.S. I w'not even comment on the safety announcement tape in the ship's tenders. Those who have sailed will know what I mean!

I was in C428 (middle of ship) with very nice balcony(pity there werent any sunbeds as there was loads of room)

Where was the shampoo and conditioner then? Was it in one of those tiny bottles?

Sorry! I think we did get a sewing kit. We used the plastic box to put our vitamin tablets in!!!!

Don't be cheeky Helford! Though we were almost in the engine room on Aurora in February (F deck)and it was so noisy -never again!

That womans voice who does the announcements! Aaaargh!!!! It really got to me!

Caspall,

There was no shampoo and conditioner on offer - it's not something P&O put in the bathrooms.

What we had in the new Temple Spa selection is below with linkis to each product on the Temple Spa website. I find the items better than those previously on offer but then my skin is sensitive to some things but not to others and I found the Elemis products weren't good for it.

Here is what we had (and they were also available when I was on Oceana last month)...............

There was a lovely shower gel/shampoo in the shower cubicles......

also available in the bathroom were the following products.............

http://www.templespa.com/Aaahhh-30ml.asp

http://www.templespa.com/peace-be-still-50ml.asp

http://www.templespa.com/Keep-Calm-3-pack.asp (only get one)

Apart from the soaps you get the full size as shown in the product details. You also get a plastic box with, emery boards, needles & threads, shoe shine cloth and a shower cap.

Its all a bit of nonsence anyway.... too small to last more than a few days, although the 'Quietude' calming mist 'for me and my space' is lovely, squirt oer your bath and relax .... brought that home and the eye treatment cream was lovely too... the rest, left behind....

As I said previously,, best to take your own favourites anyway, and as weight isn't a issue , when going from Southampton 'take it all' LOL;)

You will have a fab time - I bet it will be the 1st of many! Ours was supposed to be a one-off but we've done 5 now with 3 in pipeline since 2006....most people are totally addicted after the first - beware!!!
