Tropical Storm Dolly

I have been out of town for a while and just got home this evening to watch the evening news only to find out that Cozumel is in line for Tropical Storm Dolly to possibly hit.

 

We are leaving on our cruise next Sunday and one of our stops is Cozumel. What happens if you are on your cruise and a tropical storm hits like this? What happens if it hits Cozumel and causes damages. Will the cruise line schedule a different place to stop off?

Sometimes yes, sometimes no. It all depends on the circumstances.

 

They might go to the Wastern Caribbean instead of the Western. Sometimes depending on the storm there are not a lot of options and you might just have another sea day and get a $25 OBC.

Well I hope Cozumel remains safe. I am really looking forward to visiting there. We have an excursion planned and I would hate to have to go thru all the red tape to try and get out money back.

One great thing is that it sucks all the rain and instability out of the gulf...should be beautiful down there. We should be in Cozumel on Saturday!

If you booked through Carnival, the automatically refund you for the missed excursion.

And if you booked off Carnival, you will most likely be able to get a refund as well. Most companies are very reputable. they depend on the cruise industry for their livelihood.

You'll be fine. Dolly is near passing through Cozumel right now with only 50 mph winds. She'll be in TX long before you even get there and 50 mph isn't strong enough to destroy anything. It appears that the heavy rainfall will be to the east of the island anyway. Have a great time!

jUst in Coz on Tues 7/22/08 NO effects from Dolly i could see except some extra seaweed that will probably be gone by the time you get there.

I am enjoying reading these old treads seeing as I will be cruising July 25 2009:eek: Just wondering what I may be in store for. We usually cruise March or May/June. If anyone wants to give me any advise, please do.:)
