Philip217 Posted July 29, 2008 #26 Share Posted July 29, 2008 Cruise lines and airlines face the same challenges when showing movies to the general public. 1. They must pay royalties to the producers of the movies. 2. The movies in most cases must be edited for the general public. There are only 2 or 3 companiees in America that provide this movie editing service. After a film is released, the companies go to work on them to remove any and all offensive material. They also re-size them for showing on airline screens and televisions. After several weeks, they are completed and offfered to the airlines and cruise lines. Several weeks later the airlines and cruise lines begin to work the new movies into their rotations. Whatever is currrently showing on the airlines is also showing on the cruise lines - with the excception of a few oldies that no longer require royalties.
