I am researching cruises out of Baltimore and seen one that stops in Port Canaveral (WHY).. Has anyone ever cruised this cruise? Was just wondering why it would stop there and maybe not do another day at sea ??

Would like to cruise closer to home and maybe not fly..

I too was wondering about this since Baltimore is convenient for me. I'm in Delaware...

Anyone know if any more Carnival cruises will be scheduled out of Baltimore?

Also is the transportation from Cape Canaveral pretty easy to find once you get off ship??

Two years ago, six of us rented a van at Port Canaveral for $40. total. We drove to Disney, about 90 minutes away. We stayed in the Park for almost six hours, and drove back to Port Canaveral to return the van. This was must less expensive then any of the Ship's excursions.

1) Who did you rent the van from?

2) How did you get to rental place from the ship to pick up the van?

3) What time did you have to leave the ship in the morning to have so much time during the day?

4) Any other details would be greatly appreciated.

There are several different car rental agencies in Cocoa Beach, Fl. which is very near the ship. National, Thrifty, Hertz, and Enterprise.

 

I believe that we rented our mini van from Enterprise

4.2 mi (6.7 km) from CocoaBeach, Brevard, Florida

We left the ship about 8:00 AM and returned around 6:00 PM

 

Enterprise delivered the van to our ship. When we returned from Disney, we dropped off our passengers at the ship, and then drove the van back to their office. They drove our driver, my brother, back to the ship. They were very accommodating to us!

We stopped in Pt Canaveral on the Grandeur out of Baltimore. That is where most of the supplies were taken on, not sure if trucking to Baltimore was more expensive or what, but she took on two weeks worth of supplies before we sailed.

Thank you for this info. I'll be looking into doing this exact thing rather than paying for a Carnival excursion.
