internet in Progresso/merida

Is there any place in Progresso or Merida that would have a computer with internet service that we could use???

Yes! In Merida there are a couple in a inside mall right on the Central Plaza.

do you or Yucantoday know the price??? Or is it cheaper to just pay the $4 start up and .75 per minute on the ship. We just have to check something quickly, not going to be web searching.

The ones I mention are very very cheap. Seems like about $2.00 (USD) for a half hours use. Maybe even less.

BTW. The ones I've mentioned are internet cafes with 8 or 10 stations each.

There are many, many internet cafes in Progreso and Merida. Most of them seem to run about $1 or $2 an hour. They can also print pages for you. Just ask around, " in TER net" is how it's pronounced in Spanish - accent on the second syllable. Many of the kids working in the internet cafes are college students and have some English.

When we took the double decker bus we saw a couple places on the main drag. Just keep your eyes open.

Sure, and it's only $1 an hour. Right on the main 'drag' west side of street, just look. BTW-It will be full of crew members from the ship.

For those interested in internet service in Progreso in English, I just ran across this site while chatting on a Merida expat website. This place just opened not long ago. It is three blocks south (away from the beach) from Buddy's. No idea what the rates are but I emailed them so hope to know how much they charge and I'll post it here.

Just got an email from Dennis as Mister Sam's. Says it's 10 pesos for 30 minutes (so around $2 U.S. per hour) We'll be there a week from today :)
