Dining Room First Night

Recommended Posts

From what I understand, 99% of the folks DO get their luggage in plenty of time to change for dinner. However, many wear shorts, whatever they wore to board the ship. I make sure I wear something when boarding that is comfy, but also appropriate to wear to the dining room. I'd never wear shorts and tee to a formal dining room setting, no matter what. To each their own.:)

We are sailing on the Valor of 8/10/08. I read somewhere it's a very relaxed dress code because of getting luggage etc.... Is this true?

Yeah... generally speaking that's true. Although I put personal limits on it... On my last cruise I was wearing shorts and a 'Lookin' for a rock wall?' t-shirt when I boarded the ship. As dinner approached my bags still had not. I elected to eat at the buffet on the Lido deck because I simply didn't think I was dressed well enough for main dining. Had I been wearing a polo shirt or some such thing I probably would have felt better about it...

:)
