Highway closed between Vancouver & Whistler

Even though this is a topic of conversation in a couple of other threads, there isn't one specific to the closure. For those of you coming to Vancouver in the next week, be aware the road to Whistler is closed due to a major landslide yesterday and it is expected to be closed for at least a week. So if you had a tour booked to Whistler, or a hotel booking - you might want to start making different plans.

According to the evening news Sunday may now be a bit optimistic and it is starting to look like Monday again for a re-opening. However hope springs eternal.

This evening's news fixes the opening of the Sea to Sky Hwy (Hwy 99) to Whistler tonight around 10 to 11 pm which is a full day earlier than the most optimistic estimate.
