tne458011 Posted August 4, 2008 #1 Share Posted August 4, 2008 Flying into Miami airport. Staying overnight to get on cruise next day. Any hotels have shuttle service from airport to hotel to cruiseport that is not real expensive? Thanks
jman_in_minnesota Posted August 5, 2008 #2 Share Posted August 5, 2008 A good question indeed...i'm staying at the Hilton Downtown the night before, anyone know if Hilton has a shuttle at the airport or if the downtown hotels have airport shuttle service? sdirector77 Posted August 5, 2008 #3 Share Posted August 5, 2008 We are also staying at the Hilton downtown and I do not believe they have a shuttle for the airport to POM. I have read that they will arrange transportation if requested.
eandj Posted August 5, 2008 #4 Share Posted August 5, 2008 Look at the hotels near the airport for that kind of shuttle availibility. AND lower rates than downtown. Non of the "port"/downtown hotels offer shuttles.
jkrislc Posted August 5, 2008 #5 Share Posted August 5, 2008 I know the Embassy Suites had a cruise package, but you ended up paying more for the room to accommodate the cost of the shuttle to the port; thus, there was no real savings. What we've decided to do is stay at an airport hotel as it is much less expensive and most offer shuttle service from the airport to the hotel. Then we're going to grab a cab the next morning to the port as it will be faster and more convenient than a shuttle. In the end, we're saving over $100 by doing it this way, including the cost of the taxi for equivalent accommodations. If you're going to spend more than a precruise night in Miami, then you may not want to stay by the airport. For us, however, we don't arrive until 8:00 p.m., so it's a nonissue for us as we just need a place to sleep the night before the cruise. Good luck. Neiner Posted August 25, 2008 #6 Share Posted August 25, 2008 The RedRoof Inn Miami Airport #255 offers FREE shuttle service to the POM and a Free continental breakfast. These were my two requirements for a pre-cruise hotel.

cruiser429 Posted August 25, 2008 #8 Share Posted August 25, 2008 Check out LaQuinta East in Miami. We have booked it for December. Free pick-up at airport and free shuttle to cruise port.
sadie8 Posted August 26, 2008 #9 Share Posted August 26, 2008 We're staying at the Doubletree Biscayne Bay - we were told a taxi to the ship is only $10 for up to 5 people.

Very close to the Port of Miami.
Tinkerbell Posted August 27, 2008 #11 Share Posted August 27, 2008 When I called LaQuinta they had a two night minimum. So I couldn't book there.
