WildWillie Posted August 10, 2008 Author #26 Share Posted August 10, 2008 We are going on the Conquest next week. The documents I received with a schedule said that we arrived back in Galveston at 8:00am. So, isn't she on time? Or is 8:00 when people start getting off? As others have said, she's usually tied up at 6:30am. I'm fairly sure that's the time when you can start dis-embarking the ship. there is a certain amount of things that have to happen in between docking and debarking, So it's take about 45-60 minutes. Maybe can be sped up in this instance, but with homeland security and all that there are procedures and such. Hopefully this isn't a crew rotation or the happy cruisers are all screwed. You are correct. I was referring to the time printed on the dox for dis-embarkation.
sixgun8 Posted August 10, 2008 #27 Share Posted August 10, 2008 You are correct. I was referring to the time printed on the dox for dis-embarkation. gotcha. although it also says that the ship leaves at 4 PM, and you can embark a heckuva lot earlier than that. sewut Posted August 10, 2008 #28 Share Posted August 10, 2008 That's her normal method of docking. Down the channel, do a 180 in the "turning basin", and then edge towards the pier. I'm sure many of us watch the 180 dance every Sunday. That way, she's ready to go full steam ahead with another load of happy cruisers about 4pm or so. Hmm, I guess that is what would be known as the dock dance? lol Sewut
sewut Posted August 10, 2008 #29 Share Posted August 10, 2008 Sorry for the multiple posts. I kept getting the dreaded "this page cannot be displayed" "server cannot be found" page. I guess it was getting through after all. Sewut
suzyjack Posted August 10, 2008 #30 Share Posted August 10, 2008 it was reported last night that she was having some propulsion issues and woudl be a couple hours late. Should be any time now. When you say "reported" where is it reported? Is there a website that tracks that kind of thing?

douglinc@msn.com Posted August 10, 2008 #32 Share Posted August 10, 2008 I just talked to some friends that are on the Conquest, said they had some kind of engine problems and were running a little late. They were docked by 8:30. Doug

tinabinab Posted August 10, 2008 #34 Share Posted August 10, 2008 We listed slightly yesterday just before noon. It was later reported by the Cruise Directory that we were down one engine and would be late making our arrival this morning. We were crawling through the water for a long while until they got the issue resolved. Then we raced back to Galveston as fast as they could make her go. :(
