First Time in Cozumel

Our group is planning on doing the dophin swim at Chankanaab Park at 10:00 am on our day in port. Once we're done we wanted to spend some time sampling the local food/beverages and do some power shopping. We've been told Cozumel is the best for shopping.

 

Can anyone recommend a course of action? Any restaurants or bars that stand out and on your can't miss list? What about shopping? I don't think we're looking for anything in particular - maybe some nice earrings - typical tourist type purchases.

 

Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated!

just get thee to downtown San Miguel. It's FULL of 'local color' - and they love to mark stuff WWWAAAYYY up so don't be afraid to haggle with 'em.

 

I can't really recommend resturants, though. If you can get to the Plaza around sunset it is amazing.

We hit Casa Denis last trip for some good food. It is just off of the square in San Miguel and there are shops all over the place. You will not have any problems finding a place to shop. Haggle! Bars are like the shopping, they are everywhere.
