Is there any benefit to booking a cruise while on a cruise

I think someone once told me that there was a benefit to book a cruise while you were on a cruise. Does anyone know if there is a benefit or not? I want to book an Alaskan cruise for Aug 19, 2009. We sail on the Splendor on Sept 23, 2008.

Thanks,

Cathy

Honestly, the only real benefit is that you get some on-board credit, $50-$100 depending on how long the cruise is. Other than that, not really. You might get more on-board credit if you book it through a TA or with a group.

Thanks for the info!
