Help! Radiance Aft Cabin Selection

Recommended Posts

We are a group of 3 couples cruising around the horn in South America on the Radiance in 2010. There is good aft cabin selection right now. We are debating between each couple being on a different deck and having corner aft cabins 9256, 8168, and 7172. We are wondering if those corner aft cabin balconies are worth the inconvenience of our group being on different decks. How better are the corner aft balconies compared to the other aft balconies on deck 9 - like 9258 and 9260? OR, how much better are the aft balconies on deck 10 (one deck below the Windjammer) than the aft balconies on deck 9? We could each have an aft balcony on deck 10 (but no corner aft) or we could take the corner aft 9256 on deck 9 and the two aft cabins next to that. Our cruise is 14 days with several sea days of scenic cruising. Any reactions and suggestions would be welcome! Thanks.

I think that those corner aft balconies are very special.

What you do though depends on the nature of your three couples. Do you all see each other frequently throughout the year, and the cruise is not for the purpose of bringing you all together? If so, then go for all of you getting those corner afts, so you each have a very wonderful balcony, along with a bit of distance/privacy for each couple. BTW, the balconies decrease in size slightly as you go down the ship. 9256's balcony is wider than that of 7172.

If this is a cruise to bring you all together and catch up on each other's lives and visit, then do the dealio of having you all on the same deck next to each other. That would make hopping from here to there for a drink or a bit of girl talk much easier.

Question closely how close you all want to be, how much you want to hear at night ;) , and how much dorm-room style interaction you want.

Bon Voyage~~

For privacy reasons, I have always preferred deck 9 as opposed to deck 10. It can get a bit noisy in the mornings right below the outside dining area of the windjammer. I have had #9256 on a previous cruise on the Brilliance and have 9258 booked for our Sept. Med cruise.
