City_Woman Posted August 16, 2008 #1 Share Posted August 16, 2008 The Emerald Princess allows you to use your on-board key card for spending and winnings instead of money or tokens. I'm trying to figure out how much cash I need on vacation. If I don't have to bring cash for the casino, then that's great. Anyone know if the Island has the same system as the Emerald? City_Woman Posted August 17, 2008 Author #3 Share Posted August 17, 2008 So I'm clear - and I can leave the cash at home. It's the same system where you use your key card, load money from your on-board account, and gain points from your spending and your winnings? And there is no fee? mamatrouble Posted August 17, 2008 #4 Share Posted August 17, 2008 But be careful,I took out more money than I wanted.....You use your cruise card just like a player's card. After so many points,I think it was 2000) you get $10 back. If you are playing the slots and take money out of your cruise account(limit is a $100 each time up to $1500 a day) using the cashless system, you are not charged a surcharge. I checked with the slot manager and then looked at my final bill and there was nothing extra from the casino. What they did tell me if you take a cash withdrawl at the tables or cage then yes its a 3% surcharge. So what you do is set up up your cuise card to withdrawl money out with the first time you put it in the machine, then instead of playing with your winnings just hit cash out and off you go!!! Just make sure the last night of the cruise you collect any winings that you have on card.
