Islandtime314 Posted August 17, 2008 #1 Share Posted August 17, 2008 We'll be in Tortola first week in December off the Westerdam. I've heard Brewers Bay can be ruff with currents in the winter months. We were really hoping to snorkel there on our stop. Has anyone experienced ruff water with currents in early December? The Flying Pirate Posted August 30, 2008 #2 Share Posted August 30, 2008 We were there last December and it was a little rough, I did a dive tour to the wreck of the RMS Rhone and there were a few divers on the boat that got seasick. Once we were in the water it wasn't too bad. My wife took a tour over to Virgin Gorda to see the Baths and it was too rough to snorkel there, so she was dissapointed. If you have a chance to snorkel on the wreck of the Rhone do it. It might not be offered by the cruise line but if you contact one of the local dive shops in many cases they will have a boat with snorkelers going out to the wreck. The ship is spilt in two parts and the bow is fairly deep, like 80' but the stearn is quite shallow and comes to probably with in 10 feet of the surface so it is a good snorkeling spot. davejura Posted August 31, 2008 #3 Share Posted August 31, 2008 We will be in Tortola in November and quite fancy wreck snorkelling. Does anyone know of a specific trip or have any advice on operators? Thanks.
