Winter temperatures on embarkation from NOLA?

How far from NOLA (time wise) would we need to be before the temps get warm enough for shorts? We're going in February. I'm from the Gulf Coast so I know what to expect for NOLA, but am trying to figure out what kind of clothes to take. (I saw an outfit that I'd love to buy for the cruise, but don't know how much use it would get.) Being from the South, I am more sensitive to cold than those of you who have really cold winters. Typically, here on the Gulf Coast, I wouldn't consider it warm enough to wear shorts until late spring, so I'm wondering how far south we need to get for it to reach that range of temperatures (70s and above).

I have cruised in the winter months (I'm from New Orleans) I take shorts and tank tops and swim wear, but I leave wearing my jeans. I have brought a set of sweats cause the ship can get drafty...but then I'm prone to cold too. I take a sweater in the summer b/c the air conditioning usually gets to be too much.

Thanks, Debbie, that is exactly what I was looking for. I was thinking that we would be getting into progressively warmer and warmer weather, but was forgetting to allow for the breeze. I'm going to pack for summer wear - shorts, etc. - for port days when the ship will be stationary and my normal winter wear - jeans and/or sweats - for sea days.

Just remember that if the big blast of cold air has passed NOLA, you might not hit warmer weather for another day or so out in the Gulf
