Gerrym Posted August 26, 2008 #5 Share Posted August 26, 2008 Actually Ventura should be renamed Marmite. You either love it or you hate it!
Oceans&Rivers Posted August 27, 2008 #6 Share Posted August 27, 2008 Is Marmite sweet or savory? I know I can Google it, but I would rather read the responses you all might have to describe it. :)

Oceans&Rivers Posted August 27, 2008 #8 Share Posted August 27, 2008 It's savoury Thank you. Is it similar to Vegi-mite? (I've not tasted either one, but I seem to recall there is another "mite.")

tom_uk Posted August 27, 2008 #11 Share Posted August 27, 2008 When we were on MSC Sinfonia in May 2005 we found something called 'Consomme Marmit' on the menu one evening. Intrigued, I thought I'd try it - it couldn't be, could it? First I asked the wafer what it was: "...is a soup, signor..." was the reply. What turned up was a bowl of warm, nut-brown liquid with a savoury taste. Yes, it was dissolved Marmite.
