Need Waterfront/View Restaurant Recommendation Please!

Can you recommend a restaurant that has a nice waterfront dining area or a patio with a nice view? We don't want to go to a chain-type restaurant or a party-till-you-barf bar. :D Nothing fancy is necessary. Just want to go some place with local flavor and a nice view. Thanks!

Coconuts on the East side has the best view on the island. It is on the highest point on the island.

The view looks like this, sorry I'm in the way so you can't see the beach.

You'll need to either rent a car or hire a taxi by the hour to go there.

On the West side, you would probably enjoy the view from the little restaurant above the Blue Angel dive shop. It is right on the waterfront.

Or you could go to one of the beach clubs. I like Playa Palancar beach club. MMmm good fish tacos.

On the west side by where the cruise ships dock my favorite place to eat and watch the sun set is a small place called Caletita's. It is located just south of the Playa Caletita lighthouse. They have some of the best food on the island at a very reasonable price. Also the waiters are very friendly here, not enough tourist have been here to mess things up, YET. The dedos de pescado are one of our favorites and cost about $5.00 2927032610091393226S200x200Q85.jpg

If you will be going around the Island to the East side Coconuts has a great view and food. I don't care much for the smart a.. waiters but the food and view are really good and come with the tourist prices  .

When you get back if you get a chance please post a review of where you end up and what you think of the place or places visited, thanks. earl

We had an excellent lunch at Rendez Blu (above Blue Angel dive shop) on a land vacation. It is quiet, on the water and you can watch the divers and snorkelers come and go. Good prices also. It is between the Punta Langosta Pier and the International Pier.

If you are docking at the international pier, The Elcid hotel is just outside the entrance to the pier. They have an open air restaurant right on the water facing the cruise ships. They have excellent food.
