fideauxdon Posted September 5, 2008 #2 Share Posted September 5, 2008 A bridge is a bridge. We saw it, and drove over it. It's not worth a special trip from Charlottetown.
portbook Posted September 6, 2008 #3 Share Posted September 6, 2008 We hired Billy, a local driver that we read about on CC, to drive us around PEI. He was great and customized a tour for us based on what we wanted to see and how much time we had. His minivan seats at least 5 and he charges $50/hour. You can cover a lot of ground in a few hours at a fraction of the cost of a ship's excursion. There aren't many drivers at the PEI dock so getoff the ship early and ask for him. His buddy Harry is pretty good too. We used both drivers since we had a party of 9.;)

If you have any other questions, I'll try to answer them. http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=788572 http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=778880 http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=825707 http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=828425 http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=818547 As for the Confederation Bridge, to some it might be just another bridge but to others it's an engineering marvel and actually quite a beautiful sight to see. It is the longest bridge over ice covered water in the world and was featured in an episode of one of the Mega Projects series on the Discovery Channel.
