erin1998 Posted September 4, 2008 #1 Share Posted September 4, 2008 Good evening all......:) We just booked at a cruise on the Adventure of the Seas sailing at the end of October. After much researching about Aruba, we have decided to spend our day at Palm Beach. We love the idea of lounging in a chair, swimming, floating on the beautiful water and having access to watersports. I know that there are several resorts along Palm Beach, which brings me to my question......when we get a taxi at the port, do I just ask him to take us to Palm Beach, or do I ask him to take us to one of the many resorts on Palm Beach? Thanks a lot :D Erin
SanNic44 Posted September 5, 2008 #2 Share Posted September 5, 2008 Erin, I think you want to go to Eagle Beach where they have rental operations for chairs and such. Palm Beach is mostly dominated by the hotels. Sorry, I can't remember if there are separate rental shops there.
Arubalisa Posted September 5, 2008 #3 Share Posted September 5, 2008 For easy access to watersports and a day on the beach you would want Palm Beach. Where on Palm Beach? There is MoomBa http://www.moombabeach.com/ between the Holiday Inn and Marriott Surf Club or ... I would suggest having the taxi drop you off at the walkway which is the entrance to De Palm Pier. It is located between the Riu and Radisson Resorts. Once you reach the end of the walkway at the beach just a short ways to the right you will see the vendors, Itito and New Kid. They rent everything right there: chaises, umbrellas and floats. They also handle all types of watersports. All of the beaches in Aruba are public, but the Radisson's waitresses the last time we were there, were serving drinks and food to cruise ship passengers renting the chaises from the vendors, as well as hotel guests. You could of course walk to any of the restaurants or bars along Palm beach for some "refreshment". :) Bugaloe Bar & Grill is at the end of De Palm Pier http://www.wikimapia.org/#lat=12.5682714&lon=-70.048694&z=18&l=0&m=a&v=2 is a bit more affordable than the drinks and food at the Radisson. The Riu on the other side is all inclusive so no eating or drinking options there. The 2 squares you see to the right of the pier itself http://www.wikimapia.org/#lat=12.5682662&lon=-70.0481093&z=18&l=0&m=a&v=2 are the actual tents used by the vendors mentioned above. There is a restroom behind the Radisson's beachside restaurant, Gilligans http://www.wikimapia.org/#lat=12.5692086&lon=-70.0473797&z=18&l=0&m=a&v=2. It is towards the opposite end of the beach from where you would be set up with the vendors. For a day at Eagle Beach, info on chaise rentals: Best beach for me?
