Transportation from Manhattan to Brooklyn Cruise Terminal

What is the least expensive way to get from our hotel in Manhattan to the cruise ship at the Brooklyn Terminal? We are sailing Oct 19 and aren't sure if we should take a taxi or hire a van? Also, how long should we allow to get there on a Sunday? There will be 4 of us with luggage.

Taxi would be your best bet, the Yellow cabs from the city aren't expensive, but you would have to consider the luggage of 4 people. Most people would call a car service and price them that way you can also order the size of car you will need.
