hi

my husband, my almost 2 years old son and me r thinking of taking a cruise from miami to the islands. I wonder will there be enough things to entertain him - since he is only 2 will it be ok leaving him also with others? could we realy enjoy this? we are coming all the way from holland and I need to know what is the best ship to do this - not so expensive as the disney line. you know. I would appreciate any tips. what can you do with toddlers once you leave the boat.

thanks a million

Will your son be 2 years old when you want to take the cruise? We have two small children and we love to cruise on Carnival since our now 2 year old can go to the kids' camp "Camp Carnival" for free. This entertains/ keeps your child occupied and you and your husband can have some quality/alone time as well! Also, Carnival is very reasonably priced as well!

I'm sure others here on this board will give you more good info as well!

Yes you will be able to enjoy your vacation! But.... it may not be as you imagine.....

Your main responsibility will still be as a parent.... if you vision laying out by the pool for hours, and dancing the night away... trust me, this won't happen.

If your child participates in Camp Carnival, you will be looking at your watch and getting ready for pickup time.

Some advice, keep your child on a schedule. I have witnessed too many breakdowns of kids that are PUSHED - staying up late, skipping naps etc.

The cruise that we brought our then 2 yr old was possibly one of my favorites. I was willing to skip many activiites and just relax with her. When it was naptime, I read. At night, instead of going to the casino, etc... I relaxed alone out in my balcony and just breathed.
