Tipping tour guides

How much are you tipping tour guides in Euro ports? Please include original cost of tour and whether it was a ship-sponsored tour or private.

We will all have different opinions.... we've tipped as much as $100 to a single guide and as little as $10.... doesn't matter if the tour is ship sponsored or what the cost of the tour is... you are tipping for the service provided. ENJOY!!

Hi roadster :)

All of our European Tours, for our Baltic and Mediterranean Cruises, were ship sponsored ones. We usually tipped the tour guide between five and ten dollars (or the equivalent in euros) depending upon the length of the tour and how good he or she was. However, when we tipped in euros, we usually wound up giving them slightly more than the American equivalent.

We did notice, though, that a lot of the European passengers did not tip them because tipping isn't nearly as common in Europe as it is in the United States.
