Where are the engine noises-here(?)ever had it(?)

just got the cabins for a bal.guarantee-not bad-from interior to D cat.bal. for about 50$ total pp. but it is aft-anyone know if you can hear the engine on deck 8 on the newer ships(Navigator) the cabins are 4& 5 from the rear cabins-read somewhere that you can hear the engines in this zone thru pipes or something(?)-on a 10 day cruise this may not be good-far from the elevator,too-more concerned with the engine noise tho'-had engine noises once-don't want it again!(O:cab.8374&8376...
