valancy1 Posted September 21, 2008 #26 Share Posted September 21, 2008 Since you asked for the "little things" and my list could be huge, I'll just say: Having my barman in the dining room know what kind of wine I like and it is there waiting for me when I get there at night. But my list of other little things is much longer than this! ;)
susan123 Posted September 21, 2008 #27 Share Posted September 21, 2008 Knowing that my husband and I don't have to do anything except relax and enjoy being able to spend time together without having to plan anything or be under any stress. We don't have any obligations, and no one can contact us unless is it a real emergency. This is a great thread, especially since we cruise again in 29 days!! Cruising is the ultimate escape from reality for us.
Kurbanfan Posted September 21, 2008 #28 Share Posted September 21, 2008 For us it would be having to unpack only once yet being able to visit 3 or more different countries in one week ...........

DqALEX Posted September 21, 2008 #31 Share Posted September 21, 2008 That smell. When I first walk out onto the lido deck by the pool the smell of the wood deck and the salt air. I know I'm on a cruise ship
Heirloom Posted September 21, 2008 #32 Share Posted September 21, 2008 We agree with nearly everybody ....great thread indeed. The way I'd voice the best part of cruising: All the enjoyment that you get is EFFORTLESS on your part. Even though the company already has your money, they don't stop working hard to make you smile 24/7. And we really couldn't care less where the ship takes us.....just keep sailing, Captain......whatever port you take us to, the people there will be smiling to see us and our wallets...so that will be nice too ... GrammyJill Posted September 21, 2008 #33 Share Posted September 21, 2008 but for me it's putting out my breakfast order the night before & then enjoying that morning coffee & pastry out on my balcony. OMGosh, that's just heaven for me.

wasiii Posted September 21, 2008 #36 Share Posted September 21, 2008 I just booked our 9th Carnival Cruise ... and someone asked me... why cruising?? And I could not think of anything extravagant to say.... It's the Simple things... What ONE Simple thing do YOU love about Cruising?? For me... It's all about the Omelets.. :) I just cannot wait to say... "Cheese - well done, please!" anyone else have a SIMPLE thing? .....the simple thing about cruising? Entering the Extreme Beanbag Toss with my son! (and being champions on B2B cruises. Life doesn't get any better than that.) Okay, maybe it can get better if your son wants to become a Cruise Director like mine! :D Bill and Logan PS I booked B2Bs (again) on the Fantasy next year! summercruisin' Posted September 22, 2008 #38 Share Posted September 22, 2008 It's so hard to pick just one simple pleasure of cruising. Life is just so good on a ship. A few weekends ago, I took my son to see the USS North Carolina battleship. Just standing on the wood deck with huge anchors around made me crave being at sea. So, I'd have to agree with dqALEX. Right down to the smell...life is good at sea! Will October ever get here?

Megnolia Posted September 22, 2008 #42 Share Posted September 22, 2008 The diet coke girl (or guy) DH wanted to pack her up with us to go home. She had our drinks out every night, and never let our glass get less than half full. Aaaah. There's nowhere else you can get that :) - The flying fish - The sushi bar - Stopping at the casino on the way to dinner - walking Lido late at night when it's deserted - the band - the King sized bed - My sunglasses on our towel animal This is a nice thread! It's a million little things. ahhh
Lilmatcat Posted September 22, 2008 #43 Share Posted September 22, 2008 I love having a wonderful assortment of fresh fruit everyday (I order a fruit plate every evening) and I don't have to prepare it myself. Just sit down and enjoy!!

CruisinCindy55 Posted September 22, 2008 #48 Share Posted September 22, 2008 This is a huge simple thing. The way the room cleans itself while we are gone to breakfast. Come back and the bed is made and fresh towels are put out. LOL And at night, while we're out, the bed turns itself down and the towels are fresh again. Amazing. I love it. cathyoo Posted September 22, 2008 #50 Share Posted September 22, 2008 There's much that I enjoy about cruising. The sunrises and sunsets giving me beautiful skies and wonderful memories. But the one truly simple thing that makes me love cruising is the look on my DH's face as all the troubles and concerns of everyday living just melt away.
