marmoreus Posted September 23, 2008 #1 Share Posted September 23, 2008 Hi, First time cruiser here. We will be a party of 5 (2 adults, 3 kids) and wanting to take a cab to 7-mile beach. Can we all fit in a cab or do they have larger van type cabs? Thanks!

marmoreus Posted September 23, 2008 Author #3 Share Posted September 23, 2008 Okay. So does that mean we'll all fit in a standard taxi cab or that they do have larger vehicles like vans? Sorry to press here. I've just seen a few excursions that say taxi ride will cost ___$ for 4 people. So I don't know if that means only 4 will fit or the price is just for up to 4 people and if you have more passengers you'll pay more. Thanks! eh2zed Posted September 24, 2008 #4 Share Posted September 24, 2008 Many of the taxis are vans. They will love your group because van drivers will try to get others to join if their van isn't full.
Kiera99 Posted September 24, 2008 #5 Share Posted September 24, 2008 There are van taxi's. They will fill up the van and go. We paid the per person fare. Depending on where you go. It was $4 for Royal Palms, $5 for Sea Grape Beach, etc. I'm not sure if 5 will fit a regular taxi. We always used van taxis.
marmoreus Posted September 24, 2008 Author #6 Share Posted September 24, 2008 Great! Thanks for that info. Now I just have to patiently wait until November 1st!
dddewitt77 Posted September 24, 2008 #7 Share Posted September 24, 2008 Taxis in Grand Caymon are a great scam. You get on thinking you and your party will be taken away immediatly, only to find out you are waiting 15 minutes for the bus/van to fill up with other customers. It's a joke! They pack you in like sardines. Last time we were on the island we were on a bus that almost rioted due to the lack of movement. It was 20 minutes after we go on before we took off. They take your money and won't give it back.
runner15km Posted September 26, 2008 #8 Share Posted September 26, 2008 If you want a "cab", walk across the street and walk inland for about a block and hail a cab.
