Price reduction on cruise

This is a question to those who have received further reductions on the price of the cruise since you first booked. How do you get the latest reduced price? Who do you call (the booking agent or Celebrity directly)? And is it too late if you've already made the final payment?

if you booked through X call them. If you booked through a TA you must deal with them and have them contact X. I have received price reductions even after final payment. Once, it was done through OBC and once, I received a credit back to my credit card. Make the call now and good luck.

Call your travel agent. Generally if it is past final payment date, you won't get the refund. However, it wouldn't hurt to ask your agent if he could get you an OBC if the cash credit isn't available to you.

I have received a refund from price reductions after final payment on several occasions.

My (fully paid) sailing for next month just went down in price and last night I called Celebrity and they are issuing a credit back to my charge card. I booked the cruise directly with Celebrity - no agents involved.

One of the main things you need to look for when you see a lower price is to check if it is for "new bookings only". ;) In that case you should not expect to get the reduction.

Some TAs are reluctant to allow you to do this. I've had friends whose agents told them it couldn't be done. I know fully well they can get a refund as long as it's not a happy hour special
