Tamiroo Posted September 29, 2008 #1 Share Posted September 29, 2008 I booked a couple of excursions, 1 private tour guide ($99pp) and 1 through Carnival ($80pp). How much should I budget for a tip? Should it be the same % for both, or perhaps more for the smaller group tour (= more personalized attention)? Thanks for your quick reply - leaving this FRIDAY! YAHOO!!! Toyz711 Posted September 29, 2008 #2 Share Posted September 29, 2008 for ship excursions...we usually tip $10 to 20 for a full day (for 2 of us) and a few dollars for the bus driver. the cost of the tour means nothing to us, it's the length of touring time and how well spoken/informed the guide is. the last guide, in belize for a ruins tour, was the grey lines (a ship excusions) and was outstanding. amyj23 Posted November 1, 2008 #3 Share Posted November 1, 2008 I would have to say that tripping your guide would be quite rude.
IWORK2CRUISE Posted November 1, 2008 #4 Share Posted November 1, 2008 Please tip. We were mortified by 2 women in Puerto Vallarta who not only didn't tip our wonderful guide,( who kept us out for 5 hours on what was originally a 3.5 hour tour) they didn't pay enough!
