awsmrn Posted October 31, 2004 #1 Share Posted October 31, 2004 Will Sensation stay docked at the pier the whole day or will it go back out to sea where you have to take a tender out to the ship????
GoinCruisin Posted October 31, 2004 #2 Share Posted October 31, 2004 I'm not sure how long she stays in Coz today.... last year we were there until midnight, but last week we were only there until 6... You don't have to tender though... thank goodness!!!
BrendaB1 Posted October 31, 2004 #3 Share Posted October 31, 2004 Every Carnival ship I have ever been on to Cozumel stays docked at the pier as long as it is there.
Cotton Posted October 31, 2004 #4 Share Posted October 31, 2004 I've never seen a ship go out and return when at any port. I know some passengers get off at a port, return for lunch, and get off again.;) FYI - a quote from the 'Welcome Aboard' booklet: "Can I use the ship in port? Yes, by all means. While in port, your ship is still your home, and you should feel free to leave or return any time of day or night. Think of it as your home away from home." Cotton Posted November 1, 2004 #6 Share Posted November 1, 2004 Must've been some odd circumstance. I've never had to tender when I've been on my Holiday cruises to either Cozumel or Calica/PdC.
Landlocked In Ohio Posted November 1, 2004 #7 Share Posted November 1, 2004 Prior to stopping at Cozumel, we tendered into Play Del Carmen as an option. Then the ship continued into Couzumel and docked. We then took a ferry back into Cozumel. Had no problems.

By a chance do you have this port confused with Grand Cayman- thats a tendered port and it does take a long time to get back onto the ship. Cozumel there are three piers to dock at. mathgal Posted November 2, 2004 #10 Share Posted November 2, 2004 I know last winter the Paradise cruisers would have to tender in at Cozumel when they arrived and then the ship would dock later in the day when a spot became available. There were so many ships in the port at one time there just wasn't room for all of them to dock.

I know we were on the Caribbean Princess and because the ports were closed in Florida we overnighted at the dock in Cozumel. When we went to bed the Sensation was tied up next to us, when we woke up the Paradise was tied up in its place...so that is probably why the Holiday had to tender...too many ships in port because of the ports being closed.
