A Galveston question...

I have been trying for days to get ahold of the Holiday Inn on the beach, when you call their number (1-409-740-3581) it tells you to check the number and try again, So I call the 1-800..they tell me that "Yes that hotel is open, but that they have no updated numbers". They give me the fax number, Well Suprise Suprise.... it doesn't work either. Surely a hotel wouldn't be open if they had no phone service. Right??? :confused:

Is there anyone out there who know a different number or someone to contact about it?

I got through to the Comfort Inn on Seawall Blvd. a few days ago. They said they would be re-open in about three weeks. I first called their main reservation 800 number - but it was suggested that I call direct which I did. Someone answered the phone so I assume there is some type of phone service now.

Much of the island is still without phone service (and cable and internet). Many businesses have had their number forwarded to a cell phone.
