time frame for booking our own Alaska flights?

We are in California and traveling from Vancouver to Whittier in July/2009. We will probably come in the night before in Vancouver. What is the earliest we can fly out after getting off the Island Princess in Whittier?

I think the OP is asking what time of day they need to book their return flight? As in when is the earliest they can get to the airport in Anchorage?
