Agocruisin Posted November 1, 2004 #1 Share Posted November 1, 2004 Hello, sailing on Victory 11/14; does anyone know if you can get a clothes iron from a room steward to avoid having to get your clothes pressed and save some $$$? Thanks!
IBEEMOM Posted November 1, 2004 #2 Share Posted November 1, 2004 You will find irons in the laundry room. They are free to use. Also washers and dryers. Irons are prohibited in the cabins.
Bunkie103 Posted November 2, 2004 #3 Share Posted November 2, 2004 The Sensation had two or three ironing boards in the laundry room on the Upper Deck. They were well used, so plan to go early on Formal night!
trishloves2cruz Posted November 2, 2004 #4 Share Posted November 2, 2004 Thanks for the info on the irons. I usually iron my clothes before we leave but of course some ends up wrinkled anyway. I thought you just had to live with it or send it away to be laundered which of course you have to pay for.
Brymic Posted November 2, 2004 #5 Share Posted November 2, 2004 I was planning to bring a small steamer for last minute touch-ups. I have seen them listed on some of the "to bring" lists
GoinCruisin Posted November 2, 2004 #6 Share Posted November 2, 2004 As long as it is just a steamer and not one of those "combo iron/steamers"... I take along Downy Wrinkle Releaser everywhere I go... I pack my formals in vacuum bags and they never wrinkle... :D

Did you have to pack them a certain way before sucking out the air to keep them from getting wrinkled?
sea_u_onboard Posted November 2, 2004 #8 Share Posted November 2, 2004 Hang the items in the bathroom when you shower - the bathrooms are very small and will steam the wrinkles out.
masterbaker Posted November 2, 2004 #9 Share Posted November 2, 2004 We also bring along a steamer and the wrinkle relase spray for small touch ups. BUT... we also choose to not worry about cotton, linnen or other wrinkle prone fabrics. We send them out for pressing after our luggage is delivered and they are returned the following afternoon looking perfect. The cost is not THAT much and adds to our enjoyment. Not having to worry about packing carefully and spending time ironing and bagging clothing makes it really seem like a vacation. Most cruise lines do not have self service laundry rooms and i'm SURE I don't want to be spending my time aboard a beautiful ship in some little laundry room ironing for formal night. JMHO :)
