A possible upgrade surprise for my wife!!

Recommended Posts

Need someones opinion please!! We have a category 8a cabin booked on the Triumph for Easter of 2005. This was the first level of cabins that had a balcony, and since it will be our first cruise, we wanted a balcony.

My question is this.....is it worth the extra money to go up a level or 2 in category to get an extended balcony and some extra room? I am asking based on price and quality as a possible "upgrade surprise" for my honey, in secret, before we go.

Thanks in Advance,

NL Cruisers:)

Going up a level or two won't get you anything extra on the triumph, except for a higher location, which isn't always good (more motion felt the higher you are).

If you want to really razzle dazzle her, go with a Cat. 11 or Cat. 12 suite. That would give you a larger balcony and lots more cabin space. But it will also cost you mucho $$$ as compared to a Cat. 8A.

To move up a few decks for a few extra dollars will not give you moe room in the cabins. THe balcony cabins are the same size- You are paying for the deck you are on. If you dont care where your cabin is- then book as a gaurantee and take your chance of being upgraded for free.

How many people will be cruising with you?

For the same amount of money you can book cabins 6424 6432-6451 or 6459. These caboins are cat 8A. are bigger witha queen size bed (not the two twins pushed together.. and the balcony is extra long too
Hm, I was told by Carnival that those cabins are reserved for handicapped. Did they give you any trouble booking them?
I have learned that calling carnival you will get many differnt answers to the same questions. (these cabins are not handicapped cabins) THey are a category 9A cabin. SOme hold 4 people some hold 2 people. There are 6-8 cabins available on the ship. Call carnival and ask where are the handicapped cabins located. then call again they will give you some other locations. You can book them but if the cruiselines needs them they can ask you to move.

The cabins on the back of the ship are bigger. The first time we cruised we booked 2 months ahead of time and paid for a balcony on the victory but then got upgraded to a catergory 8b on the back of the ship. Those cabins are always sold out but we got it. Plus I would get a balcony on the 7th floor. Since this is were the suites are there is only cabins above youand below you. When I was walking around the 6th and 8th floor you could hear noise from the clubs and pools. So the 7th floor is better aince it would be much quite.
