Canada/US Border (WestCoast) Peace Arch

Had occasion to cross both ways on the weekend. The construction at the Peace Arch South Bound at the US checkpoint is futile.

 

Especially for those with "Nexus"

 

There are only a maximum of 4 checkpoints open and one of them is set up for nexus only. For nexus you are supposed to drive inthe right hand land well beforre reaching the crossing BUT. ther are only two lanes and they were plugged solid for about a Klick prior to the crossing. Useless.

These two lanes filter nto the four check points.

 

We went a couple of miles to the East and crossed in minutes at the Pacific Truck crossing. This was a beautiful Saturday.

 

They were giving out times of

1 1/2 wait for Peace Arch

1 hour wait for Pacific.

 

Pacific had 8 I think open plus the Nexus line. (and some traffic control)

This problem will endure until the construction is complete and of course is much worse at busier times.

 

North bound was no problem at either Canadian check point at anytime were were there or listening to the border times on AM 730.
