Port stop in Civitavecchia and La Goulette, Tunisia

Recommended Posts

We have a Port stop in Civitavecchia and have been to Rome. Does anyone have any suggestions of an area near the port that we could cab to that would be of interest? We also have a stop in Tunisia, and I would like to cab to the hillside village of Sidi Bou Said, is that possible?

Taxis are plentiful at the pier in La Goulette and will take you to Sidi Bou Said or anywhere else like Cathage or Tunis. We used one to go to Sidi Bou Said on our second cruise stop here. Be warned that the taxis offer quote a one way fare then charge for both directions and waiting time when you return. Make sure you get a price for a complete tour when inquiring.

Being Tunisia is a former French colony (French is still used here) there is a very interesting old French military cemetary at Sidi Bou Said that IMO is worth visiting.
