Nippy Sweetie Posted May 18, 2009 #126 Share Posted May 18, 2009 Remember this Gerry? It was the original post; Has anyone actually been affect by the recession of downturn in trade? The shops seem full of people. Not just the 'essential' food shops but the 'non essential' such as the Graden Centres, Clothing stores, Bedding stores etc The only place I have seen 'rather empty', was a Travel Agent I went into yesterday to get a brochure, 'BUT', it was one of the run of the mill High Street TA's and not the specialist/private type I use. Recession? Point it out to me :-) Mike Thats why I was following this thread. Wont bother now if you are at your usual stuff.

Nippy, please don't take offence, I did add a smiley to try and show that I was just jesting and letting you know that we have a member that thinks they are an admin. lostinvegas Posted May 20, 2009 #130 Share Posted May 20, 2009 Sorry if I went off topic a little I was just answering the questions asked, I apologise. Can this not turn into another Gerry vs stopgo topic please. To stay on topic a little does anyone think cruisers will opt for more traditional holidays to save money? and in turn will this mean the cruise lines will have to give further discounts. LibraLass41 Posted May 20, 2009 #131 Share Posted May 20, 2009 Chris I once stayed in a 3* jersey hotel about 5 years ago and paid £500pp for a week, I can have a 7n cruise on OCEANA in August inside cabin for £499 - leaflet offer sent to me this week - so no!;)
lostinvegas Posted May 20, 2009 #132 Share Posted May 20, 2009 Wow thats a good deal. I guess I was refuring more to package deals but then again you would be hard pressed to go full board for a week for less than £499.00 Chris
