Gotaquestion Posted October 30, 2008 #1 Share Posted October 30, 2008 Has anyone taken a "non-cruise" excursion for horseback riding in Belize? My 10 year old daughter is an experienced rider and very bummed that Carnival imposes a 12 year age limit. I just wondered what other alternatives we might have? skylock Posted October 30, 2008 #2 Share Posted October 30, 2008 You probably need to check the ports board, but I have done the one thru the spa there. We had a good time and our guide gave us a tour of the area and to shopping on our way back to port. It was a very relaxed ride, only our group of 5. Horses looked well taken care of. I was quite surprised to see all the pine trees there, but these pine trees had spider monkeys in the tops that really liked to put on a show. Gotaquestion Posted October 30, 2008 Author #3 Share Posted October 30, 2008 Thanks for sharing your experience and also for the hint on the "ports" board. I'm new to this and your pointer really helps!
kimmimom Posted October 30, 2008 #4 Share Posted October 30, 2008 through this group http://www.smugglersrunbelize.com/. They had a great time. They got a wonderful lunch and horsback riding (my kids were age 11 and 6 then and both got to ride). of course it rained that day and even with the ponchos they provided my 6 YO was pretty wet and they gave her a dry shirt to go home with for free. Highly recommend them. This was from trip in Jan 2006.
