St Thomas on Thanksgiving?

Thanksgiving is the day the Crown Princess will be in St. Thomas. Since it is a US territory, do they observe the holiday? Will shops be open?

Charlotte Amalie Store HoursMonday through Saturday, including Holidays: 9am-5pm

Sunday Hours: While Sunday hours are usually half day, closing time 1pm; there are exceptions created by the number of ships in port. When there are no ships in port, some stores won't open at all. If there are several ships in port some stores might stay open until 3pm.

 

Note: Stores in Charlotte Amalie all unanimously close during the Children's and Adult's Carnival Parades. The parade route is along Main Street and the parades last all day. They usually take place during the last Friday and Saturday of April or the first Friday and Saturday of May.

Thanksgiving is celebrated in the USVI. Its a government holiday. The shops will be open.

Yes on Sundays and holidays often residents get together at the beach for picnics and parties. Magens is popular for this; so is Coki, Brewers and Lindquist.

Likely not as many as a non-holiday since some folks are off from work, kids off from school so less demand plus some drivers might take the day off to be with family/friends. But some will be running.

Does anyone know if the day before Thanksgiving is busy at Lindquist and Brewers? My fiance and I were hoping to get married at Lindquist November 25, 2009 which is the day before Thanksgiving. Not sure if many of the beach parties would be going on that day or more so on Thanksgiving day. Any input would be really appreciated. Thanks!

Hello Marksgirl, there may be some additional people at Lindquist and Brewers the day before Thanksgiving but its not a holiday. Thanksgiving is the holiday and the day after a lot of people take off too.
