FYI: Dania Springhill Suites offers free shuttle service to Port Everglades (you pay a taxi or shuttle to get back - around $8/person), and also allows free parking for the duration of your cruise, up to 14 days. (I called them twice to confirm with two separate reps - and they were nice to boot!)

In addition, they offer a free HOT breakfast every morning. Rates weren't bad either - we're paying $108.00/night for last day in November.

Here is their website in case anyone is interested: http://www.marriott.com/hotels/travel/flldb-springhill-suites-fort-lauderdale-airport/

Cheers!

Thanks for the information. Great to know for people driving to the Port in Fort Lauderdale who would like a buffer day before their cruise.

Not only to buffer a day before the cruise, but to save $$ on parking as well. Figuring we're on a 12 day cruise - at $15/day for port parking, it would be $180.00. Our hotel with free parking is only $120.00. So not only are we saving money, but we're not rushing around the morning of the cruise to drive 5+ hours to get to the port. I'm all about a little R&R!! :)

booked 159.00 just now with 14 days free parking!!Feb 2009

Would have had to pay 180.00 just to park at the port with no hotel

thanks again

You're welcome! So glad it worked out for you.

I searched and searched the forums and was having a hard time finding something, so wanted to post something that will hopefully be helpful to everyone who is looking for this as well.

Happy sailing!
