Jewel Southern Caribbean 9 day, any must do's?

7 Days to go! Very stoked. Any advice on "must do's" on this itinerary? 2nd cruise for me, first was a great PoH cruise a couple of years back. Never been to the Carribean however.

Any advice appreciated.

For an extra point question, we're in a suite on 11th deck stern. Usually reading that's popular. Any concerns there?

We did this trip on the beautiful Jewel in March and loved it - was our first trip to the Caribbean as well. As far as must do's...hmmm...

Samana was nice and relaxing, we did the Cayo Levantado thing and enjoyed it - pretty crowded, but still fun. We did Tortola on our own, beautiful. Our excursion in St. Lucia was cancelled, stormy weather, and we didn't make it out of the port area - I think it would be a must do to get out of the port area! Antigua was one of my favorites, people so friendly - we went to the Dockyard and had the sweetest guide! In Barbados we hung out at the beach in front of the Malibu factory, which was great, we were tired and just needed to enjoy some of that nice oh-so-soft sand and a nice adult beverage...

On the ship, don't miss the bridge viewing room up at the front of deck...is it 11? We thought it was fascinating! Bingo is just a touch overpriced, but the casino was fun. In hindsight I wish we'd gotten spa passes, be sure to take the tour of the spa the first day and see if you'd enjoy relaxing there. And be sure to eat at least one night in Cagney's, it was great!

I'm sure you'll enjoy it and will bring back suggestions for our next trip - have a great time!

This was our favorite cruise-wonderful itinerary and great ship. In Saman, we booked through Casa Dorado to go to Playa Rincon-named by Conde Nast as one of the four most beautiful beaches in the world. Go there-it is true. No development and the most beautiful beach-unspoiled and uncrowded. I can't tell you enough good things about Catherine and Roberto Guzman who own Casa Dorado.

Tortola- we did on our own.

Antigua-Eli's Ecotour-adventureantigua.com WONDERFUL DAY. There are many reviews on the Antigua site-well worth the money

Barbados-elShasa catamaran tour-great day

St. Lucia-ziplining on our own

Have fun-this is a great ship!!

We did this cruise also in March 08(HI Steve and mmeow!) and really loved the Playa Rincon beach excursion through Casa Dorado. That water was SO warm!!! Keep re-applying sunscreen!!!!!!!!!!!

That itinerary is fabulous and would go again this March Spring Break but unfortunately the timing would be the Jewel's 5 day itinerary.

(We are now looking at the Dawn's Eastern 7 day (with Samana, St.Thomas, Tortola, Private Island) or Carnival Victory Southern out of Puerto Rico for March 09.)

Jewel is lovely and I found almost ALL the staff friendly, etc.

We went to Teppanyaki, Tex-Mex twice and Mama's Italian. Mama's was extra good & filling. Tex-Mex was not so good one night, but good the other=...? Tepp. was good, but would not go again.

Have a great cruise!!!!!
