transportation yo and from (turners?) beach

On our next cruise, my wife and I are planning to forego excursions and just go to the beach at all or most ports. What is the best way to get to, and more importantly return from the beach? We don't want to get stranded and miss the boat.

I'll be in Antigua next Tuesday and we plan to go to Turner's Beach via bus. There are some other posts in this thread that detail how to do this. We plan to walk to the West Bus Station which is south of the cruise port. From there we will hop off at Turners / Darkwood beach and catch a bus back later in the day.
