oooohDonna Posted November 10, 2008 #1 Share Posted November 10, 2008 Thinking of doing the snorkel tour with SAndDollar. In port 7-2PM. The one tour is 9-12...we should be ok getting back to ship in time for 2PM departure, right? Someone said is 5 minutes away by cab, but I don't think that is right. I stayed on Freeport for a week and seems like its much further away than 5 minutes. Thanks all...Donna
3poes Posted November 10, 2008 #2 Share Posted November 10, 2008 We sailed with Capt Tony in august and the ride from the ship was about 5-10 minutes but getting off the ship and waiting for a taxi took about half an hour. Although we were a few minutes late Capt Tony was right where he said he would be. The ride back was much calmer and we had plenty of time, some even stayed a while in the marketplace before heading back. The ships actually dock at a place called "Southwest point" here is a link to an aerial map (make sure you click "satellite" in the upper right hand corner) http://maps.google.com/maps?hl=en&client=firefox-a&rls=com.google:en-US:official&hs=cBz&resnum=0&q=southwest%20point%20bahama%20map&um=1&ie=UTF-8&sa=N&tab=wl if you zoom out until you can see freeport, then zoom in near the coast you can actually see the Sand Dollar Catamaran at the dock. Capt Tony and the Sand Dollar are super!!!

3poes Posted December 30, 2008 #4 Share Posted December 30, 2008 Water is around 75 degrees in the winter, most say it is comfortable but bring dry clothes for when you get out. Cool breezes and wet clothes can get uncomfortable very quick!
