nowake Posted November 14, 2008 #1 Share Posted November 14, 2008 Can anyone tell me of a good company to use to transfer from the airport to the ship that mom won't have to get out of her wheel chair? (she unable to) I am having a hard time finding one. TY
Beth Y Posted November 15, 2008 #2 Share Posted November 15, 2008 We used Super Shuttle. They service both the Miami and Ft. Lauderdale airports. Just be prepared to wait for the wheelchair accessible van, because they don't call for it until you actually check in with them after your flight arrives. NorthernLite Posted November 15, 2008 #3 Share Posted November 15, 2008 We just used them on the 10th and it took about 15 minutes for one to arrive. Insist on tie downs. We had a slam the brakes driver that set me flying into the back of the back seat face first.
Arwenmark Posted November 17, 2008 #4 Share Posted November 17, 2008 I have had good results with just going to the taxi line. the agent will summon an accessible taxi and they load you in the back. it is not the most comfortable ride on earth but neither is a van if you must stay in the chair. anyway for this no special arrangements need to be made. DesrtDrmr Posted November 23, 2008 #5 Share Posted November 23, 2008 We, like Arwenmark, just go to the taxi line. There is someone there that will call you an accessible van...........it's very easy. Whatever you do, have a great cruise!
rascalrider Posted December 17, 2008 #6 Share Posted December 17, 2008 Someone supplied this phone number for an accessible cab in Ft Lauderdale: 1-954-646-7907. I have not personally used it.
