Meet + Mingle Invitation on Jewel

We had signed up for the M & M before boarding the 10/27/08 sailing of the Jewel of the Seas. We were expecting to get either an invite sent to the cabin as we had received in the past or a listing in the daily newsletter.

It finally dawned on us after several days that the triangular placard left on the desk was the invitation. On the outside it stated joining Cruise Critic for the M & M, etc. so we ignored it. It wasn't until later that I opened it up and saw that inside it stated the time date + location of the M + M. Oh well, the invite got lost among every other promo they leave in the cabin. Just wanted to point it out so no one else would overlook it + miss the meeting.

The placard did serve as a useful place to store the two pens that they put in the draw without caps. The night we left Boston we encountered 35-40 foot swells with wind gusts exceeding 100 knots. We were awoken by the pens rocking back + forth in the desk draw. It took us several minutes to figure out what it was in the dark and put the placard to good use, ha ha.

I am sorry you missed your Meet and Mingle.

It is posted on the Meet and Mingle website where you went to register, about a month before you actually cruise. They post the place, date and time.

I am surprised that no one on your Meet and Mingle Roll Call did not post that information for everyone to see. Most Roll Calls do that when they find out the date and time for their members. That way they do not miss it as you did.

We also didn't know the placard was the invite. The only reason we made it to our M&M on our Freedom cruise was because we were with a bunch of people and they reminded us. We had no idea that was the M&M invite. Now we know and we always look for it. (until they change the look of it again :D)

We also check before we leave, but often found the time and/or location changed.
