Still paying fuel surcharge!?

I bought my first cruise today and payed almost $60.00 surcharged p/p! the oil closed today at $49.62.... Is something wrong here? Do you think they will adjust or give a refund? I hope so.....:confused:

You're getting the reactions you're getting because there are dozens and dozens of threads already about the fuel surcharge. Search and ye shall find.

 

Short answer - Carnival has announced a process by which they will begin refunding the fuel surcharge. It's a little more complicated than this, but in essence if the daily closing price of crude stays below $70/barrel for the month before your cruise that will trigger an automatic On-Board Credit equal to the fuel surcharge you paid. Search for the deatils and the somewhat complication calculation if you're interested.

One closing of 70.00 or 70.01 (whatever the trigger is) during the window will produce a ton of bucks for CCL.

I played in traffic once and missed the fuel surcharge by .53. Found out later it just wasn't worth it to me.
