Taxis at Port Everglades in Ft. Lauderdale?

We have always used cruiseline provided shuttles to return to the airport after a cruise, but this time our flight doesnt leave until 6pm. How easy is it to just get a cab outside the terminal to go somewhere within Ft. Lauderdale to spend the afternoon???

I just returned from a cruise on Saturday. There were lots of taxis available. In fact, as we were headed to the hotel the driver pointed out the queue line of cabs. My gosh, must have been 50 or more waiting in line. Very easy to catch a cab, just follow the signs to the Taxi area.

gsutter, Another option that I have used is to book a shore excursion through the cruiseline. Last Jan. I did the Everglades airboat ride. They dropped us off at the airport at 2:00pm (I think). That way I didn't have to mess with my luggage or sit around the airport for 6+ hours

Just a thought,

Dave
