LindaKE Posted December 1, 2008 #1 Share Posted December 1, 2008 How does Vieux Quebec compare to New Orleans French Quarter? Living near New Orleans, I am somewhat familiar with N.O. and am wondering if Quebec will be more of the same. We won't have too much time in Quebec and DH wants to see Montmorency Falls. But I keep seeing that we shouldn't skip Vieux Quebec because there is so much to see. Also, I can't do a lot of walking.
jp2001 Posted December 1, 2008 #2 Share Posted December 1, 2008 Even if you have limited time, you should go to Place Royale in the Quartier Petit Champlain. It's very close to the main cruise ship docks. Here is an idea of what you'll get: http://lemstyle.com/2007/10/07/photos-vieux-quebec/ I enjoyed New Orleans very much but Vieux-Quebec is different and worth seeing. eh2zed Posted December 1, 2008 #3 Share Posted December 1, 2008 You will find Vieux Quebec more quaint than the French Quarter. Certainly more compact and upscale. None of the seedy stuff like the French Quarter. I loved the French Quarter but quite different. Well worth a visit. The ship leaves from Old Town so stay there for at least a night and take a cab out to Montnorency.
