We are taking a 4 day Bahamas cruise ,ending on May 15, staying overnight and boarding the Liberty of the Sea on May 16th. We would sure appreciate suggestions on our free day in Miami. Should we book a rental car? If we do have a car,we can stay anywhere in the Miami area. Any suggestions? Karen and Dean Wood;):):o

If you like museum type of things, there is an awesome museum in Miami, just a short ride south of downtown in Coconut Grove, called Vizcaya. Google it and you'll find their website. Having recently been there myself, I recommended that to our B&B guests last week, who were history buffs themselves, and they thoroughly enjoyed their day there. It's not so large like the Biltmore in North Carolina that you need an entire day to see it. It's a half-day explore at the most and fairly close to the port - not walking distance, but close enough that you should not have any fears of sitting in a lot of traffic either if you're on a schedule.

If you like gardens and such the Fairchild Tropical Garden is a nice spot.
